Privacy Policy

How this website collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Effective

Jurisdiction
Calgary, Alberta

RYCO Properties owns, acquires, and develops land and commercial and rental property across Calgary and southern Alberta. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

01

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to rycoproperties.ca and to personal information you provide through it. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, such as LinkedIn or Google Maps, which keep their own privacy practices.

RYCO is responsible for the personal information in its control. Questions about this policy can be sent to the contact at the end of the page.

02

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: what you send us through the inquiry form, and a limited amount of technical information our hosting provider records automatically.

When you submit the inquiry form, we collect the details you choose to provide:

  • Your name
  • Company or organization, if you give one
  • Email address
  • Phone number, if you give one
  • The type of inquiry (commercial, leasing, land, or press)
  • The message you write to us

Our hosting provider also records standard technical information with each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We use this to operate and secure the site, not to identify you.

03

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking of any kind. We do not build profiles of visitors, so there is nothing here to consent to or opt out of. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy first and choose a tool that does not rely on tracking cookies.

04

How we use your information

We use the information you send us to:

  • Reply to your inquiry and correspond with you
  • Evaluate land submissions, leasing interest, and partnership or press inquiries
  • Keep an internal record of the inquiries we receive

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send marketing or newsletters. If we introduce an email list in the future, it will be opt-in, with a clear way to unsubscribe, in keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

05

Service providers and where your information goes

We rely on a small number of service providers to run this site. They handle your information only to provide those services to us:

  • Resend, which delivers the inquiry form to our inbox by email.
  • Vercel, which hosts the website and records the technical logs described above.

Both providers operate in the United States, so information submitted through this site is transferred to and stored there. While it is in the United States, it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of that country. We share information with these providers only as needed to run the site, never for their own purposes.

06

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry information for as long as we need it to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of our correspondence, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Technical logs are kept only briefly by our hosting provider. You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact below.

07

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. The form is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

08

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Alberta's PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw consent or ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

09

Children

This site is meant for a business audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. We will post material changes here before they take effect.
